Wylie House Saturday Afternoon String Quartets - November 16

November 16th 2013 @ 3:00pm
Wylie House Museum
307 E. Second Street
Bloomington, IN 47401

This fall, the Wylie House Museum will feature IU Jacobs School of Music student chamber ensembles studying with the Pacifica Quartet, the Jacobs School quartet-in-residence. Coached by the Grammy Award-winning Pacifica Quartet, the students will showcase their talents and virtuosity beyond the walls of the Jacobs School through their passion for chamber music.
A new venue for the Jacobs School chamber music series, Indiana University’s Wylie House Museum was built in 1835 as the home of IU’s first president, Andrew Wylie, and his family. Today Wylie House is owned and operated by Indiana University as an historic house museum recreating the Wylie home prior to 1860. The parlor-style living room of the Wylie House, much like the original settings for which chamber music was written, will serve as the venue for the chamber music performances.
