About Southeast Asian Studies

Although the IU Libraries have always collected relevant materials, Southeast Asian Studies represents a newly focused undertaking both at the Libraries and at IUB. The collection is primarily intended to support teaching and research for the new department of Southeast Asian Studies in the School of Global and International Studies. Current emphasis is placed on the Phillipines, Indonesia, and Thailand, with Indonesian and English language materials at the forefront of collection development. The Libraries' collections cross academic programs throughout the humanities, arts, and social sciences. This focus is expected to change and grow, along with the academic department itself.
