Coordinate and participate in the daily operations of the Auxiliary Library Facility (ALF), a high-density, environmentally controlled shelving facility. Receive materials into the ALF by picking up materials at service locations throughout campus, unloading the truck at the ALF, unpacking pallets, sorting items, loading them into assembled book trays, and shelving them using forklift vehicle. Delivering items from the ALF to service points throughout campus by packing materials, loading the truck, driving the truck to a variety of campus locations, carrying and unpacking material at service points. Use inventory management software to process receipt and delivery of material to and from the ALF; modify library catalog records to reflect deposit of materials into the ALF.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required, some college-level coursework preferred. One year of inventory control, storeroom, or warehouse experience required; one year of library experience, six months of customer service experience, and six months experience working with a library catalog database preferred. Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured by Indiana University. Demonstrated ability to spend eight hours on one’s feet and to lift or move 30-60 lb. repetitively. Ability to operate forklift and/or successfully complete forklift certification training within 90 days of initial employment. Demonstrated ability to handle uneven workflow and pay close attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines and production quotas. Demonstrated problem solving ability. Computer skills including MS Word, Access & Excel. Demonstrated ability to interact tactfully and courteously with others; ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Dependability and flexibility.

Shifts may vary and are subject to change depending on the needs of the unit and variations in the hours of operation. Daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required. Some overtime may be required. Tentative Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
