IU Libraries Construction Updates: Yes, the West Tower of Wells Is Open

August 20th 2014
Wells Library Learning Commons

As the fall semester opens, the IU Libraries are abuzz with activity.  Summer construction projects in Wells Library are drawing to a close, and they have utterly transformed the first floor of the Wells Library.  With comfortable, collaborative work spaces the new Learning Commons in the West Tower and the Scholars’ Commons in the East Tower will feature experts from the IU Libraries and across campus and will provide the latest in digital technology. (Pictures coming soon!)

Renovations are also nearing completion in the Swain Hall Library where the new Brian Serot Commons will feature new technology, comfortable furniture, and a fresh new look.

We at the IU Libraries appreciate the patience and good humor with which our visitors have navigated the changes that have taken place over the past few months, and we look forward to sharing these new spaces with you and exploring the opportunities they help create.

Below is a status update.  Please return to the IU Libraries website for further construction updates and for information about the grand openings of the Learning Commons and the Scholars’ Commons.
