Indiana University archives and special collections

In addition to the University Archives at Bloomington, Indiana University has several rich archival and special collections throughout its eight campuses.

At Bloomington: 

Archives of African American Music and Culture (AAAMC): the Archives of African American Music and Culture (AAAMC) is a repository of materials covering a range of African American musical idioms and cultural expressions from the post-World War II era.

Archives of Traditional Music (ATM): The Archives of Traditional Music is an audiovisual archive that documents music and culture from all over the world.IU cup and saucer from the Wylie House Museum

Black Film Center/Archive (BFC/A): The Black Film Center/Archive is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and making available historically and culturally significant films by and about black people.

Center for the Study of History and Memory: The Center for the Study of History and Memory is dedicated to building upon its work in the field of oral history while broadening the range of their research projects to address the many ways that people remember, represent, and use the past in public and private life.

Elizabeth Sage Historic Costume Collection: Overseen by the Department of Apparel Merchandising and Interior Design, the Sage collection serves as a resource for students, professionals, and the public. The Collection contains both a high-quality permanent museum collection intended for exhibition and research and a hands-on collection used in classroom instruction and fashion design studios.

Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology: The Black Lab collections are comprised of objects, papers, maps, microfilms, photographic negatives and prints, slides, films, digital files, illustrations, and artwork.

Kinsey Institute Library and Special Collections: The Kinsey Institute Collections encompass print materials, film and video, fine art, artifacts, photography, and archives. 

Lilly Library: The rare books, manuscripts, and special collections library of the Indiana University Libraries in Bloomington.

Mathers Museum of World Cultures: The Mathers Museum Collections consist of over 30,000 objects and 10,000 photographs representing cultures from each of the world's inhabited continents. 

Wylie House Museum: Wylie House is a historic house museum administered by the IU Libraries. The house was built in 1835 by Andrew Wylie, first president of Indiana University.

Regional: 

Calumet Regional Archives: The mission of the Calumet Regional Archives shall be to collect, preserve, and make available records from organizations and individuals to document the history of Indiana's Calumet Region (Lake and Porter Counties) for use by students, scholars, and the general public.

IPFW Archives: The IPFW university archives collects material related to the history of the IPFW campus. 

School of Dentistry Special Collections: The Special Collections contains artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia from the Indiana Dental College and Indiana University School of Dentistry, and information about the history of dentistry in Indiana.

IUE Archives: The IU East Archives houses photographs, oral histories, pamphlets, student publications, faculty papers, and much more.

IUK Archives: The purpose of the archives is to collect, organize, and preserve the historic documents of Indiana University Kokomo.

IUPUI Ruth Lilly Special Collections and Archives: The IUPUI University Library's Ruth Lilly Special Collections and Archives include the Manuscript Collections, University Archives, and Rare Books. 

IUS Special Collections: The IU Southeast Library holds the IUS archives and several special collections including the Baron Hill papers and the Ars Femina Archives.

IUSB Archives: The University Archives/Special Collections is the repository for the records documenting the history of Indiana University South Bend as well as the histories of the greater Michiana area. This area also houses Special collections and rare materials.
